Kitchen Mission
His Dogness Birthday Card
Sparkle Girl’s friend Rachael wrote a poem called “Kitchen Mission” that I really like.
Here it is:
I went on a mission into the kitchen.
I went behind the refrigerator with my toy alligator.
And then I dove behind the stove.
And, when I crept behind the sink, I found my long-lost pet mink.
So that’s where all the fish had gone.
I checked the clock.
I didn’t have long.
I went to the counter.
What I needed was there.
I grabbed it and left with almost no time to spare.
Mission complete.
You’ve done just fine.
And now, finally, the brownies are mine.
